Design rooted in clarity, emotion, and purpose.
I’m Taylor Hammes, an artist and designer based in Phoenix, Arizona. My work lives at the intersection of clarity and emotion—balancing thoughtful structure with visual warmth to create design that feels grounded, human, and intentional.
I studied Interdisciplinary Arts at the University of Washington, and much of my practice has been shaped through hands-on experience across a range of creative contexts. From commercial and cultural work to independent projects, I’m drawn to problems that require care, nuance, and a strong point of view.
I currently work as a Creative Associate at McKinsey & Company, partnering with multidisciplinary teams to bring clarity to complex ideas through design. Across both in-house and independent work, I’m most interested in projects where design serves people first—supporting understanding, storytelling, and meaningful connection.
Outside of work, I’m usually spending time with my dog, Keke, or soaking up desert light. Originally from Minnesota, I’ve found my way back to the Southwest, where landscape, pace, and atmosphere continue to influence how I see and create.
